Field Characters

Small perennial plant with round leaves, 1-2 inches wide, attached to the petiole in the middle of the leaf. Inflorescence a simple umble with flowers in one row, usually above the leaves while Hydrocotyle bonariensis has flowers whorled on its branches. Flowers in one row. Leaf 1-2" across.

Animal Use

Animals are not known to eat the plant or seeds.

Natural History

Grows in wet places throughout most of Louisiana and the eastern half of Texas.

Habitat

Low or moist areas.
