Field Characters

Digitate leavs with 3 (5) leaflets with joints. Fruit constricted to a narrow neck and not winged dorsally. (Similar to Oxypolis filiformis which has more leaflets, which are longer and filiform with no apparent joints. Its fruit has no neck and are winged dorsally)

Natural History

Finger dogshade is found in wet places in north and central Louisiana and the Coastal and Blackland prairies of Texas. It ranges from Texas north to Missouri, and east to Louisiana.

Habitat

Wet places and roadside ditches.
