Field Characters
Spikelets green and brown. One long bract vertical above inflorescence and in line with stem. Basal leaves only 2-3. Look alike: C. pseudovegetus- has many basal leaves
Natural History
This sedge is abundant in moist places of north Louisiana and east and southeast Texas. It ranges from Missouri to North Carolina and south to Louisiana. This species flowers all year.
Habitat
Moist places, low areas of streams and shores.
