Field Characters

An erect, perennial forb with culms in tufts. The leaf blades are 4-5 mm wide at the base tapering to long point, erect and appressed to the culm. The inflorescence is composted of 2-5 dense glomerules of bark-brown.

Natural History

Found frequently in moist sand in the prairie and Washington parishes of Louisiana and east and southeast Texas.

Habitat

Wet acidic pine savanna and wet coastal prairie.
