Field Characters

Leaves mostly 1 ½ - 3 inches long, primary lateral veins 3–5 pairs, apex acute to abruptly acuminate, lower midvein covered by epidermis. Similar to Ligustrum lucidum which has leaves 2 – 5 inches long, primary lateral veins 6–8 pairs, apex usually long-acuminate, lower midvein not covered by epidermis. Margin of leaf translucent. Ligustrum lucidum is much more common as an escape.
