Field Characters

Larger and more erect than Limnoscadium. pumilum, growing up to nearly 8 dm with larger leaves (8 cm long by 2.5 wide), while L. pumilum is low and diffuse growing to only 4 dm tall with smaller leaves (3" long by 1/4" wide). The fruit of L. pinnatum is oblong-oval, while L. pumilum has oval to orbicular fruit.

Natural History

Found in wet places in the northeast and southwest parishes of Louisiana and the eastern half of Texas.

Habitat

Low wet places, along roadsides, and marshes.
