Field Characters
There are two species: Mazus pumilus (japonicus) is erect, hairy, not stoloniferous, and has a corolla 1 cm or less long, while Mazus miguelii is stoloniferous, hairless, and has a corolla 1.5 cm or more long. Look alike: Mecardonia acuminata- opposite leaves
Natural History
A naturalized weed of disturbed ground.
Habitat
Lawns, cracks in sidewalks, and wet bottomlands.
