Field Characters

Sheath hairy, leaf blades flat with long conspicuous nerves, inflorescence spike-like. Often growing in mats floating on water. Straight narrow spike. Pale green color. Leaves rough and 0.5" wide. Purple mark by leaf base (collar). Ligule-purple line.
