Field Characters

Similar to M. cordifolia in many features but is smooth with no hairs and has relatively smaller leaves and heads. Its leaves more commonly subentire or undulate, acuminate, and less than 8 cm long by 6 cm wide (those of M cordifolia are 12 cm long). opposite, heart-shaped leaves with 3 prominent veins and toothed edges. White flowers in dense heads. 4-sided stem.
