Field Characters

Similar to Mitreola petiolata which, as the name implies, has petioles, while Mitreola sessilifolia has sessile leaves.

Natural History

Grows on seepage slopes, in bogs, wet savannahs, and along wooded streams in Louisiana and eastern Texas. It ranges from Florida to Texas and north to Virginia.

Habitat

Moist low places, chiefly in the coastal plains.
