Field Characters

Sharply 4-angled, non-septate culm. It is also capable of growing to a height of over 1 m, quite tall for spikerush. Stem without nodes or chambers.

Cultural Information

No treatment is required for germination (Steffen 1997).

Natural History

Found growing in mud throughout most of eastern United States.
