Field Characters

is a large annual forb to 3 m tall, it stems branched near the top. The leaves are alternate with pointed tips and toothed margins. The heads are disk-like and numerous with cylindrical involucres. May be confused with Sonchus or Senecio. The flowers are much smaller than these species and white. The leaves clasp the stems like Sonchus but its leaves are spineless.
