Field Characters

May be confused with E. hookerii which has bracts that are wider, more spinose, and have wings at their base, while E. intergrifolium has bracts that are linear, with no or only 3-5 spines, and no wings at their base.

Cultural Information

Requires moist to wet soils. Little is know about the germination requirments of E. integrifolium, however, it may benefit from cold/moist stratification as does E. yuccifolium.

Natural History

Blueflower Eryngo is restricted to wet sites such as moist woods, bogs and wet prairies from Texas to Florida, and north to Minnesota.

Habitat

Wet pinelands, meadows, savannas, moist woods, and bogs.
