Field Characters

Tuft of white hairs on ligule. Look alike when not in flower: Distichlis spicata- 1 mm long, transparent, 1-3 mm leaf width.

Animal Use

Poor to fair forage.

Habitat

Brackish marshes, moist saline to brackish sands at the edges of lagoons, bays, and river mouths.

Plant Uses

Good for shoreline stablilization.
