Natural History

Found in the loamy soil of prairies, pastures, and old fields throughout Louisiana and the eastern half of Texas. It ranges along the Gulf and Atlantic coast, from Texas to Florida and north to Alberta.

Habitat

Loamy soil of prairies and pastures, roadsides, sand dunes, waste ground, and barrens.
