Natural History

Usually found in wet, periodically flooded areas or even growing as an aquatic along ditches, in swamps, marshes and bottomlands of the prairie and Washington parishes of Louisiana, a few of the most northerly parishes and the eastern and southern half of Texas. It ranges from Kentucky to Alabama, and west to Texas.
