Field Characters

Flowers not organized on heads, about 20 flowers. Round septate leaves.

Cultural Information

The seeds of most species of Juncus may be planted fresh or after cold/moist stratification, and require light for germination (Steffen 1997).

Natural History

Found in moist or wet areas of coastal prairies and savannahs. Seems to be restricted to the Pleistocene terrace of Louisiana and southeast Texas. It ranges throughout the coastal states from Delaware to Texas.
